Sprouts:

Nikita, the second of two restaurants owned by billionaire Larry Ellison in Malibu opened this week. It's a Mediterranean-Italian restaurant next to Nobu on the Pacific Coast Highway and shares the same name as Ellison's girlfriend Nikita Kahn.

Freddy Smalls, a restaurant and bar located in West Los Angeles, is now taking reservations at its new outdoor patio.

The Wilde Thistle, a Celtic-inspired cafe is coming together in West Los Angeles, according to EaterLA. The neighborhood eatery includes traditional British fare, such as tea and crumpets to toasted cheese sandwiches. There's also vegan and gluten-free offerings.

The former Sansai Japanese Grill in Brentwood that closed last summer finally has a new tenant, according to its leasing agent. What's coming is a well known restaurant brand, but a name could not yet be revealed. Renovations begin in a couple of weeks.

Hakkasan, a Vegas style restaurant and club is opening a Beverly Hills branch, reports EaterLA. It will offer location-specific items as well as its classic salads and lighter fares.

Shutters

Choppe Choppe, the custom salad cafe in Beverly Hills has closed, reports Troddrickallen. It started in Culver City and there's no word on a replacement yet.
