Sprouts:

Louie’s of Mar Vista officially opened its doors to the public on the Fourth of July weekend and is offering up a slew of dishes … mostly of the meat variety. Aside from tasty burgers, farmer's market specials and fries with dipping sauces, the owner saved a beehive during renovations and constructed hive boxes for Mar Vista's bees in order to reserve a little honey for the kitchen.

Cafe Brentwood is a European style cafe version of a neighboring restaurant and lounge in Brentwood Village. It comes with a seasonal, farmer’s market edge on an eclectic breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. It opened June 18.

Malibu Hot Yoga opened its second studio location on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood. It offers classes that combine traditional yoga posture practices with a Vinyasa flow set to music.

Pan-Asian restaurant The Bossy Wife & Co. will soon replace Caffe Bello in West Hollywood. Co-founder Marianne Rumantir "is involved with" Gaijin Japanese Fusion and Gaijin Lunch Bar in Australia.

Athleta, a women's athletic wear store, has opened its new location on Third Street in Santa Monica. It features women's yoga, running and swimwear.

Shutters:

Leaf Organics, the restaurant in Culver City that opened, closed and reopened again over the last three years has officially shut its doors for the last time. The Washington Boulevard restaurant terminated its lease on June 17 and the owner posted a note on its Facebook page stating Leaf and the surrounding buildings were sold to a developer looking to raze it and build a new apartment/retail complex.
