Patch Picks for Mother's Day in Brentwood

Treat the most special woman in your life to a day she will always remember.

Whether Mom likes art or is more of a “lady who brunches,” Brentwood has enticing options for her special Sunday.

According to Executive Chef Olivier Rousselle, the Mother’s Day brunch will feature a large buffet in the hotel’s banquet room that will be adorned with flowers. The brunch will feature many traditional items, as well as a seafood display, carving station (lamb and prime rib), sauté station (crêpes, waffles, and omelets), salad bar, and a massive chocolate fondue fountain.

Maître D’ Latia Garcia feels this restaurant is the place to be this Mother’s Day because “our staff is ready to accommodate every need, and our guests always leave happy.” Reservations are required; call (310) 476-6571.

Special Offerings: Guests can quaff complimentary champagne and beverages while a jazz trio plays. A photographer will be available for free family portraits. Look for the $10 “Build-a-Bear” station as well.

Pricing: $58 per adult, $55 per senior, and $29 per child.

Mother’s Day Hours: 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Parking: Valet parking is free with validation for three hours.

The Cheesecake Factory

Why Here?: This popular eatery is known to serve large portions of quality food at a reasonable price. Their Sunday brunch features  lemon-ricotta pancakes, French toast Napoleon, crab hash, Monte Cristo sandwiches, and more. Bring your mother to this restaurant if you’re looking for great food in a pleasant environment that will not break your bank.

If weather permits, request to be seated on the patio in the courtyard which boasts a beautiful fountain. Reservations are only accepted to dine between 9 a.m.- 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., it’s first come, first serve.

Special Offerings: The Cheesecake Factory will open one hour earlier than usual to begin serving brunch. They will be serving their weekly Sunday brunch entrées.

Mother’s Day Hours: Brunch is served from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. The restaurant will remain open until 11 p.m.

Parking: Valet parking is available in the underground structure for $2 for four hours with validation.

Why Here?: If your mom has a penchant for fine art and prefers finger foods to French toast, take her to the for an afternoon full of cultural enrichment. This exhibit features a slide lecture and gallery viewing of artwork that portrays early depictions of mothers with their children. Guests will also be treated to tea and light snacks.

"Our Mother’s Day event provides a different alternative on this special day. The course is really geared towards different interpretations of what motherhood was like through different time periods," said Juvenio Guerrao of the Getty.

Special Offerings: Artist and educator Zhenya Gershman will lead the event. Tea and finger foods are included in the ticket price.

Pricing: Tickets are $30 per person, and can be purchased here.

Mother’s Day Hours: The event is from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Why Here?: Known to be a great spot to grab a bite with a bonus museum tour (and vice versa), Zeidler’s Café also offers a sumptuous Mother’s Day brunch. Signature items include baked egg in brioche with arugula and salmon, roasted leg of lamb with shallot chutney, strawberry and cream cheese–stuffed challah French toast, and an omelet station.

After  the buffet, walk over to the museum to explore the “” exhibit. Mom will leave feeling full and fascinated! Reservations are required, call (310) 440-4575.

Special Offerings: A wide array of specialty brunch items at Zeidler’s Café. Tours of the “Houdini: Art and Magic” exhibit are free with your museum admission ticket, and are available at 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Pricing: Brunch is $27.95 per adult and $13.95 per child, plus tax and gratuity. Museum admission is $10 per adult, $7 per senior, and $5 per child.

Mother’s Day Hours: Brunch is from 11 a.m.- 12 p.m., and 1 p.m.- 3 p.m. The museum is open from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Parking: Free in the northern and eastern underground garages. Street parking is strictly prohibited.

Brunch at Daily Grill

Why Here?: This upscale restaurant inside the Brentwood Gardens shopping center boasts an elegant interior and a relaxing outdoor patio that will impress your mother on her special day.

Featuring succulent Mother’s Day brunch items such as crab cake Benedict and Texas French toast with fresh berry compote, Daily Grill is the perfect location for celebrating with great food in a low-key atmosphere. After brunch, take mom around the complex and let her shop at some of Brentwood’s finest boutiques, including Theodore, Madison, and ICE Accessories.

Special Offerings: Brunch items will be available in addition to the lunch menu.

Mother’s Day Hours: Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. The restaurant will reopen from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m for dinner.
