A festive holiday calls for a festive celebration. Patch has your guide to the best Cinco de Mayo party places in and around Brentwood.

Whether it’s a kids' party with a piñata at the park, or more of a "Cinco de Drinko" type day, Brentwood and the Westside offer lots of choices for Thursday's celebrations.

Cabo Cantina

Why Here?: The name of this bar says it all. Paying homage to the homeland, you can expect Cabo Cantina to be full of enthusiastic bar-hoppers on Cinco de Mayo.  With traditional Mexican décor lining the interior and plenty of new friends to be made, you may catch yourself thinking you’re actually on the beach in Cabo celebrating this

Special Offerings: .99 cent “Coronitas,” and cocktail pitchers are $12 for well drinks, $14 for call drinks, and $17 for premium drinks. From 4 p.m.- 8 p.m., all menu items are half off.

Cinco de Mayo Hours: 11:30 a.m.- 12 a.m.

Parking: Valet parking is available after 5 p.m., for $4.50. Street parking is available.

Why Here?: La Salsa is a neighborhood eatery that consistently serves up quality Mexican food fast. For those of you looking to avoid the chaotic bar scene, swing by La Salsa with some friends and indulge your taquito, taco, enchilada, burrito, or quesadilla craving and enjoy eight varieties of fresh salsa. If you’re looking to celebrate in a casual atmosphere, this is your spot.

Special Offerings: Manager Abraham Arefaine is offering 10% off all Cinco de Mayo catering orders. If you prefer to visit La Salsa and eat there instead, Arefaine recommends ordering the green chili burrito or the avocado enchilada platter.

Cinco de Mayo Hours: 10:30 a.m.- 9 p.m.

Parking: Park inside the San Vicente Plaza lot, where parking is free for 30 minutes with validation. Street parking is available.

El Cholo

Why Here?: With a rich history that dates back to 1922, El Cholo is one of the premiere Mexican restaurants establishments in Los Angeles. Order drinks and appetizers, or feast on a hearty Mexican meal in this Santa Monica outpost of the authentic eatery that is modeled after a traditional hacienda. If you’re looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in a big way with a group of friends, El Cholo will not disappoint.

Special Offerings: “Our blue corn chicken enchiladas, filet mignon tacos, and El Cholo margaritas are very popular with our customers,” Fernando Reyes, manager of El Cholo, told Patch. “We also offer happy hour from 4 p.m.- 7 p.m. which features discounts on draft beers, tacos, and guacamole.”

Cinco de Mayo Hours: 11 a.m.- 10 p.m.

Parking: Valet is $3.50 for lunch, $4.50 for dinner (lunch ends at 4 p.m.) Street parking is limited.

Aahs!

Why Here?: For those with a penchant for party-planning, Aahs! in neighboring Santa Monica is one-stop shopping for all your Cinco de Mayo fiesta needs. With an impressive variety of goods to choose from, Aahs! currently offers sombreros, maracas, ponchos, temporary mustaches, pink mustaches for ladies, decorations, beads, margarita-shaped shot glasses, plates, napkins, sombrero chip trays, balloons, and more. If you’re looking to bring a taste of Mexico into your Brentwood home, Aahs! is the store for you.

Special Offerings: All Cinco de Mayo merchandise at Aahs! is reasonably priced; however, make sure to check out the entire store as many unrelated items are discounted. With a little bit of creativity or enhancement, some simple goods can work just as well at your party.

Why Here?: Complimented by the gorgeous Southern California weather, this little park  is the perfect backdrop for your Cinco de Mayo get-together. Purchase a piñata, pack blankets and take-out, and head over to the sprawling grassy field with family or friends. After cracking open the piñata, active groups can enjoy a pick-up sport game while enjoying the sunset.

Special Offerings: The park and fiery Brentwood sunset are free for all to enjoy. Bring your own food, blankets, and sporting equipment.
