No Cuts, No Color, Just Blowouts at Brentwood's Drybar

Look your best without spending a fortune by getting your hair blown dry by a professional.

Women of Brentwood, you know what a hassle it is getting your hair to look right for a special occasion or—for many of you—any day.

This is true whether you’re a mom, a career woman or just standard busy.

In Brentwood, there’s an affordable option, which combines getting your hair done and getting away from it all:  at 11677 San Vicente Blvd. in Brentwood Gardens.

The Mai Tai is "messy and beachy," while the Manhattan is "sleek and smooth." There's even a "Shirley Temple" (girls 10 and under) for those mother/daughter days out.

Brentwood Patch asked owner and founder Alli Webb what makes Drybar so special.

Brentwood Patch: Why did you open Drybar?

Alli Webb: Personal necessity! Having hard to manage hair, I understand the importance of a good blowout but the options were far and few between. I had to choose between an overpriced blowout at an expensive salon or a subpar service at a discount chain and realized there was definitely something missing in the marketplace.

Patch: What can Brentwood residents expect when they come in to the "salon"?

Webb: We are the anti-salon. Guests are greeted with a friendly smile and great attitude. Stylists will show you to a blowout station, where you can sink back into a comfy Italian chair, enjoy a drink, or two, nibble on gourmet snacks, charge your phone at an iPod dock, read through your favorite magazine, or watch a chick flick—they are always on rotation on our flat screens! The vibe of Drybar is upbeat and relaxing. Customers who come in on their BlackBerry usually end up putting them down and having fun.

Patch: What is it about your service that makes you special?

Webb: Having fabulous hair makes every woman feel special, from stay at home moms to women prepping for a big event, a good blowout can go a long way. And blowouts are always $35 no matter what. We don't up-charge women based on their hair type or the style they are requesting.

Patch: What is your favorite beauty tip?

Webb: My No. 1 most important rule for all blowouts is always start with clean hair. That’s why your blowout at Drybar comes with a wash included.

Patch: Why do people come to Drybar?

Webb: Women feel confident and powerful when their hair looks great and Drybar provides this service at an affordable price without sacrificing luxury. We see many women coming in before big meetings and auditions so they look and feel their best for their big day.
