NFL Fans: Check Out These Scenes on Sunday, Or Not

The Steelers and Packers fans at a bar near you are looking for football, not dates.

Every other resturant in Brentwood has a sign about "great catering deals" for your Super Bowl party.

But what about those of us who want to head out to watch the game with other football fans?

Well, Brentwood has options for that too!

We also have advice for singles trying to turn Super Bowl Sunday into date night.

What's Brewing in Brentwood for Super Bowl Sunday:

(11648 San Vicente Blvd., 310-806-6464) is serving Happy Hour Specials all day.

The bar area has two televisions and the vibe of the place is low-key. Although the fans may get excited about the game, it's definitely going to be a bit more mature (read: older) crowd.

What you need to know:

  • Happy hour all day Sunday
  • Beer, wine by the glass, specialty cocktails and more
  • Food specials include burgers, chickpea puree and a simple salad
  • Most popular item: organic turkey burger with tomato confit
  • Kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m.

Q's Billiard Club (11835 Wilshire Blvd., 310-477-7550) will fire up the grill at 1 p.m. for the Q's Super, Super Bowl Party.

Q's will be packed on the most popular football day of the year with fans between the ages of 21 - 35.

What you need to know:

  • Hot dogs and BBQ chicken for a $1 upstairs
  • No drink specials
  • Most popular items: hamburgers plus their great selection of draft beers
  • Qs closes at 1 a.m.

Cabo Cantina (11829 Wilshire Blvd, 312-310-5840) is having the biggest party in town, complete with food and drink specials, giveaways and prizes. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.

Fans of all ages - college students and professionals - will come to this "Mexican cantina with a sports bar vibe" to celebrate on Sunday.

What you need to know:

  • There will be a raffle for a Corona beach cruiser bicycle (must be present to win)
  • Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys til 3 p.m.
  • Happy Hour 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.; 10 p.m. - midnight
  • Most popular item: Patron tequila mega-margarita
  • Cabo Cantina closes at midnight

For those singles thinking about hitting the bars to meet people, I have two thoughts:

  • It you are already a football fan, go for it! Watch the game intently and chit chat during the boring commercials.
  • If not, I say choose another day: Football fans can spot an imposter a mile away. Besides, Super Bowl Sunday is a great day to hit the sales, go to a popular restaurant or run errands while the streets are deserted.

Whether you're in it for the football, commercials or post-show episode of Glee, Super Bowl Sunday is an event best enjoyed with others.
