Moe's Fine Wines Owner Touts His Current Top 5

The most popular wines coming off the Brentwood wine store's shelves are all, of course, from California.

Patch stopped by Moe's Fine Wines on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood this month, one of the oldest locations in the 90049 to find a wide variety of wines.

Wine guru and owner Moe Levy listed his most five most popular wines right now. They are:

  • Lamborn cabernet sauvignon (2008)
  • Gemstone cabernet sauvignon
  • Cru cabernet sauvignon (2010)
  • Leviathan red wine (2010)
  • Shafer Hillside Select

Levy said the Leviathan is made by Andy Erickson at Screaming Eagle vineyards. He said Cru is the second lavel from Vineyard 29 in Napa Valley. The Lamborn cabernet sauvignon is made by Heidi Peterson Barrett, a former winemaker at Screaming Eagle. Levy said the Gemstone is from the property taht borders Screaming Eagle. And the Shafer Hill Select?

"It's for the money," Levy said. "It's one of the best wines you can get on the planet."
