LA County Gives Restaurants the Cyan Letter: Cleanliness Is Part of Yumminess

The county's restaurant inspectors aren't Zagat critics, but their ratings are closely followed.

Like the Scarlet Letter, those big blue letter A signs on the front windows of Brentwood eateries tell a long story with a single glyph.

In our neighborhood, they represent the top grade from the Los Angeles County Department of Health's restaurant inspection team.

All of Brentwood's restaurants (in the 90049 ZIP code) scored the highest letter grade in the most recent surveys.  None were closed.
