Getty Announces 'Pay Once, Park Twice' Program

Visitors can experience both Getty locations on the same day for one parking fee.

As of March 23, Getty visitors will be able to experience both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa on the same day for only one $15 parking fee. Visitors to the Getty Center and the Getty Villa can go to the museum information desk at each site to obtain a coupon good for same-day complimentary parking at the other Getty.

The Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades and the Getty Center in Brentwood are about 12 miles apart, making it possible to enjoy both sites in one day, especially on Saturdays, when the Getty Center is open until 9 p.m.

Visitors can spend Saturday afternoon at the Villa and Saturday evening at the Center for one $15 parking fee, spending the entire day exploring the distinct collections, programs and environments of both sites.

“Pay Once, Park Twice” takes effect just as spring break begins for most Los Angeles schools. It will also be in effect during the last week Johannes Vermeer’s luminous Woman in Blue Reading a Letter (about 1663-1664) is on view. This generous loan from Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum marks the first appearance of this remarkable painting in the western United States, and the last stop of a world tour before returning to Amsterdam.

This offer is not good on Mondays, when the Getty Center is closed, or Tuesdays, when the Getty Villa is closed. Admission is free at both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa; parking is $15. For more information on hours and directions to the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, visit www.getty.edu or call (310) 440-7300.
