Brentwood General Store Reopens in Montana Avenue Space

Family-owned jewelry and gifts store outgrows Brentwood Country Mart space and reopens in prime Montana Avenue location.

Nestled between Blue Plate and Montana Nail, the fine jewelry and gifts from Brentwood General Store are now just over the line in Santa Monica in a reopening this year at 1413 Montana Ave.

The family-owned business operates 1,200 square feet of space compared to the 800 square feet from its former digs in the Brentwood Country Mart, bringing its staff along.

"It's been terrific," said owner Melissa Clark, noting the larger space also receives more sunlight. Along with her husband Jeffrey, the family started Brentwood General Store in 2000 in their dining room and then moved it to their guest house.

From 2001 to 2003 they relocated and operated in the Brentwood Country Mart, located at the popular 26th Street and San Vicente Boulevard retail area in Brentwood.

Clark told Patch they are full service, including offering a variety of gift-wrapping ideas. They are gearing up for a busy holiday season on Montana Avenue.
