Brentwood Teen Dies Following Vehicle Accident

The June 13 accident on Sunset Boulevard in Pacific Palisades shut down traffic for more than four hours.

A 15-year-old boy from Brentwood who was struck by a car while crossing Sunset Boulevard and Hartzell Street in Pacific Palisades June 13 has died, Los Angeles police confirmed Monday.

Detective Stephanie Banks of LAPD's West Traffic Division told Patch Monday the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office verified over the weekend the boy passed away while at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Pacific Palisades LAPD Senior Lead Officer Michael Moore told the community council on the night of June 13 that the driver of the vehicle was not at fault following the accident and that the teen crossed the busy roadway with headphones on.

Two user comments made on the June 13 Pacific Palisades Patch post claimed to know the boy, saying he was suffering from broken bones and was in a coma over the weekend. One user said the boy passed away late on the night of June 15.
