Blog | Save The Earth - Have A Green Party

Enviormentally friendly ideas for your next party.

Are you running out of ideas for your next party? Why not save the environment and have a green party? Get rid of disposable plates and tableware and opt for more traditional dishes and glassware. This creates a more elegant look for your party and reduces waste, which is more earth friendly.

Below are just a few of the positive steps you can make rather than using those plastic cups and plates that end up in our ever growing landfill.

Rent tables, chairs, tableclothes and coolers for a planet-conscious alterative to chewing through a few more trees. You can also decorate with things you might find at your local second-hand shop. You are saving your environment and saving money on your party decor. When your party is over, recycle them back to the second-hand shop.

Serve green food. Take a trip to a farmers market and purchase organic food from aa local farm. You might also find some organic spirits at your local Whole Foods store. After you've finished your dinner, don't throw those table scraps away. Put them into your compost pile. By using local products for your party, you support the environment. This exposes your guests to resources that might encourage them to buy local foods also.

Outdoor decor. Solar powered lights around your walkways saves energy and looks beautiful at a night. Why not light some soy or beeswax candles in containers to avoid soot and toxins into the air? Set up your buffet with flowers from your garden. Place some potted plants around. Hydrangeas or violets make nice centerpieces, and it's a nice gift to give your guests when they leave your party. Plants help clear the air of carbon dioxide and pump more oxygen into your home. That's certainly a plus for your health.

Recycle. When the party is over, don't forget to use your recycle bin. Organic cleaners are also good for the environment, so try to use spray cleaner and dishwashing liquid that doesn't add chemicals to our water supply. Reuseable cleaning rags are simply a better choice than paper towels.

So deciding to go green doesn't mean you have cut back on the fun. These are only a few examples. Green events are better for our planet, the food is better for you and it saves money. Why not make the change and do something positive for our planet and your health?
