Blog | Party Patter and Holly Jolly Christmas Ideas

Stress free holiday party ideas.

The holiday season has arrived. Santa Claus, sleigh rides in the snow , cuddling close next to a fire with a cup of hot chocolate. Fond memories of Christmas with our families. Our lives have become so busy these days I think many of us have lost the feeling of Christmas. Instead of buying gifts why not make something your loved one might treasure.Volunteer at a shelter to help those less fortunate. They say their is a reason for the season lets not forget that. Lets try to put aside our family differences and love one another this holiday season.

Here are some ways to create a festive low stress party.

Holiday Brunch

  • Provide a holiday spiked punch or mimosas for your guests.Along with a few non-alcoholic drinks such as coffee, fresh juices,or smoothies.
  • Create a menu that might include Quiche, or perhaps a strata. Along with that french toast, sausages, and some muffins.
  • Don't forget to put out a tray of your home made holiday cookies, and a fruit tray with some indulgent dessert. Who's counting calories its the holidays !

Appetizer party

  • If you are having a appetizer buffet served as a meal figure about five to six different appetizers.
  • Mix it up and do a few hot items along with some cold. Plan on providing around eight to nine pieces per person.
  • Look for some appetizers that can be may ahead of time. A simple a vegetable platter, cubed sausage, and cheese and meatballs are easy to make and cut down time spent your kitchen.
  • Consider making up place cards for each of your food items. People are inclined to eat something when they know what it is.

Cookie Exchange

  • Hosting a cookie exchange lets you sample all kinds of sweet treats.
  • Ask your guests to provide one big batch of cookies so that everyone can sample. Use the rest to exchange with others.
  • Provide coffee and some cold milk for drinking . Set out gift bags or cookie tins so that your guests can take home their cookies.
  • Have your guests provide their cookie recipe so you have a new cookie to try next year.

Bring a donation for charity

  • Remember those of us who are less fortunate then us and ask your guests to bring donations to your party.
  • Have your guests provide canned food or clothing and find a localcharity that might be needing some of these items
  • Set up a table for donations or a covered box for cash and checks.

The holidays can be a stressful time for all of us. These are just a few ways to create a simple Christmas event.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
