Getty Garden Re-Opens Saturday

The museum restaurant is offering cocktail specials in honor of re-opening.

The Getty Center's Central Garden, which has been closed since February for maintenance to its walkways and planters, will reopen Saturday.

The garden features and tree- and plant-lined walkway that winds across a flowing stream and descends to a plaza featuring bougainvillea, a stone waterfall and a pool with a floating maze of azaleas, all encircled by specialty gardens.

The Central Garden was designed by artist Robert Irwin, who described it as "a sculpture in the form of a garden aspiring to be art."
