MG Lord presents "The Accidental Feminist" at Diesel Bookstore

Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood welcomes acclaimed local author M.G. Lord to the store to celebrate the publication of her new book, The Accidental Feminist, on Thursday, February 23rd at 7pm.

Subtitled "How Elizabeth Taylor Raised Our Consciousness and We Were Too Distracted by Her Beauty to Notice," The Accidental Feminist looks at the life of this Hollywood legend from a new perspective, from her breakout role in National Velvet to her Oscar-winning performance in Butterfield 8. Drawing on unpublished letters and scripts as well as interviews with Kate Burton, Gore Vidal, Austin Pendleton, Kevin McCarthy, Liz Smith, and others, The Accidental Feminist is an engaging read that will appeal to not only Elizabeth Taylor fans, but film fans as a whole.

M.G. Lord is an author and critic. Since 1995 she has been a regular contributor to The New York Times Book Review and the Times's Arts & Leisure section. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including ARTNews, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times Book Review, and The New Yorker. She lives in Los Angeles.
