Lawrence Norfolk discusses "John Saturnall's Feast" at Diesel Bookstore
Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood welcomes acclaimed author Lawrence Norfolk to the store to discuss and sign his new novel, John Saturnall's Feast, on Wednesday, September 19th at 7pm.
Twelve years in the writing, John Saturnall's Feast is a masterpiece from one of England's greatest living historical novelists. Set in the early 17th century, and reminiscent of Wolf Hall, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, and works by David Mitchell and Peter Carey, it is a fantastically rich novel of food, forbidden love, turbulent history, and ancient myths. The journey of its titular character is complemented by recipes from the actual Book of John Saturnall, as well as original illustrations that preface each chapter.
Lawrence Norfolk is the author of the critically acclaimed novels Lempriere's Dictionary, The Pope's Rhinoceros, and In the Shape of a Boar. Lempriere's Dictionary was named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year and won the Somerset Maugham Prize, and his works have been shortlisted for many international prizes, including the IMPAC Prize and the James Tait Black Memorial Award. He lives in London.
