Come to the Getty Center and see the "Gothic Grandeur: Manuscript Illumination, 1200–1350" exhibit. The word "Gothic" evokes visions of soaring spires, graceful flying buttresses, and sparkling stained glass. The term is also applied to the style of manuscript illumination that reigned in Europe from around 1200 to 1350.
