What's the Most Dangerous Brentwood Intersection?

A typical rush hour on San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood exhibits many symptoms of Los Angeles' traffic congestion woes. The examples shown locally are issues in the largest cities around the country.

Many of Brentwood's intersections experience "blocking the box," where a driver chooses to cross an intersection during heavy congestion when there simply is not enough space on the other side to fit.

So, instead of waiting for that space to open up, the driver chooses to cross the intersection and let part of the vehicle hang in the "box," creating danger for oncoming traffic when the light changes.

The intersection blocking is evidenced in the photo above on Wednesday, July 17 at San Vicente and Montana. Many locals say Bundy Drive and Sunset Boulevard is Brentwood's most dangerous intersection.

Blocking the box was former L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's top budget-minded traffic initiative when he took office, according to LAist. It's now a law in New York to combat its cities most congested streets, with fines and penalties issued.

So we ask, what's the most dangerous Brentwood intersection? Should California, or at least the city, look into imposing more traffic enforcement for congestion issues like "blocking the box"?
