The Most Dangerous Brentwood Intersection Is...

Brentwood Patch readers vocalize that Sunset Boulevard's intersecting with Bundy Drive and Barrington Avenue are, most often, the most dangerous in the community. Do you agree?

Brentwood Patch has asked several times over the years about traffic concerns and dangerous intersections, and the summer of 2013 is no different, except some key observations in the latest questionnaire about "blocking the box" at the busiest intersections.

However, as with continuous public safety concerns in nearby Pacific Palisades, the thoroughfare of Sunset Boulevard attracts the greatest concerns. One of the photos attached to his post, sent in from a local reader, shows concerns about traffic flow at Sunset and Bundy, where the cinder blocks to a property wall on the northwest corner of the intersection was struck by a vehicle in June.

"I can't count the times this fence has been driven right through," the reader writes.

Sunset and Barrington also appears to be one of the most dangerous intersections in Brentwood. Here's a sampling of Facebook comments from Brentwood's page:

The one in the photo is bad. The intersection by peets, whole foods on San Vicente is the worst. - Nina Drabkin

Sunset & Barrington! Please bring the traffic cops back. - Kathryn Kuykendall

It comes down to enforcement. There used to be LAPD motorcycle units patrolling Brentwood all the time, but I don't think I've seen one in years. In NY there are big penalties for 'blocking the box', would seem like a good way for cash-strapped LA to make some money. - Todd Nathanson

Barrington & Sunset - Holly Loveless

All of sunset from Bundy to the Freeway. Barrington and San Vicente, Bundy and Olympic to pIco, it's not like the good old days anymore. - Daniel Cahn

Hopefully finishing the 405 will help, still I am skeptical. - Robery Levy

Bundy & Wilshire is an awful spot too. - Nastascha Lopez

It's not the intersections; it's the drivers. - Nels Hefty

Do you agree with the feedback? What are your thoughts?
