Julie Andrews' Home Sold

The Brentwood home owned by the actor recently closed escrow.

A Brentwood home owned by Julie Andrews was in escrow less than a month after coming on the market for $2.65 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The home, which the actress/singer owned with her late husband, screenwriter Blake Edwards, has four bedroom's, an artist's studio over the garage and sits on about a quarter-acre behind high hedges. It features French doors that open to a garden, and includes a swimming pool and spa.

Andrews, 76, is known for her starring roles in "My Fair Lady" and Camelot." She won a best actress Oscar for "Mary Poppins" (1964) and starred in "The Sound of Music" (1965). Last year, she was given a Grammy lifetime achievement award.

More recently she voiced Gru's mom in "Despicable Me" (2010) and the queen
in "Shrek Forever After" (2010).

Public records show the property was purchased in 1989 for $1.2 million. Gary Glass of Prudential California Realty in Brentwood is the listing agent, The Times reported.

In Bel Air, a home once owned by Judy Garland  sold for a second time since last year - for $6.78 million, The Times reported. Hugh Evans of Partners Trust in Brentwood handled both sides of the transaction.
