Albertson's Isn't Closed Yet But 'All Sales Are Final'

The market that has occupied the building at Marina and 2nd Street for years is a shell of its former self, as the stocked shelves empty of the remaining products.

Have you been in the Albertson's store at Second Street and Marina Drive lately? It was said to be closing in March, and checkers have invited some customers to a parking lot party on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.  But do you think there will be anything left in a month? Here are some shots we took Monday night.

Deli, bakery and meat counters were closed. No refrigerated produce was available, though there was still a lot of frozen food and packaged cheeses, lunchmeat, etc., and some dairy products. Only two registers were operating on Monday evening. Having an Albertson's card wouldn't get you any special discount -- it no longer applies.

All sales, of course, were final.

If you are an Albertson's shopper, where do you plan to move your weekly marketing? Tell us in comments.

Sad to see this store go. It was on my way home from work so a great place to pick up what I needed for dinner etc. I stopped by for their closing sale. The first time at 8:05 to find out they close at 8:00 now. The second time I thought I would get some good deals. The "regular" prices were so high that the 10-25% off most items sale still left them costing more than they were at this store during a sale or at other markets. I bought very little.

Huh. I hadn't noticed prices spiking.

So sad to see this store go. Has been there for so very long! Now I get to shop at Vons "the Market" (should be called "the JOKE"}, or suffer that signal at PCH/2nd to go to Ralphs., For any little thing.
