The effects of smoking are dangerous and costly

According to The New York times, the cost of a smoker amounts to $5816/year for a private employer. The figure was determined by the amount of breaks smokers take on average per day (5 as opposed to 3 for nonsmokers), and health problems (2.5 extra workdays per year) that can include loss of productivity due to nocotine withdrawal.

The US has experienced significant decreases in smoking due to smoking cessation campaigns, but elders and adults who are lifelong smokers may find it difficult to stop.

A-1 Home Care provides assistance and support for elderly smokers who are trying to quit. Our caregivers recommend exercise, fresh diet and socialization for mood lifting during the tough initial months.
