405 Fwy Contruction

Is it my imagination or does the Southbound on ramp from Eastbound Wilshire Blvd. go directly into the Santa Monica Blvd. off ramp.  Did the on ramp this morning and felt like I had about 1 second to merge into 405 traffic.  Seems extremely dangerous.  Mistake?
